Born Monami Watanabe on February 28, 1993, to a model mother and photographer father, MONAMI was immersed in fashion from an early age. She began her modelling career in 2011, primarily working as a runway model while expanding her activities across Japan. In 2018, she entered the Miss Universe Japan competition and became a finalist in the Aichi regional contest.

The same year, she fulfilled a long-held ambition by launching her DJ career. With a style centred on techno and acid techno, she has become a regular at parties including Sensualism. Since 2021, she has also been part of GATHER, a gathering of techno enthusiasts from across Japan, steadily expanding her performances from WOMB in Shibuya to clubs nationwide. Her aim is to create dancefloors that are both more uplifting and more elegant.

In 2024, she launched her own party, DO"AT", as a platform for emerging trends and new creative expression. Beyond the club scene, she has expanded her activities to include organising events at restaurants and working as a sound selector for hotel lounges. As one of the artists helping shape a new wave of Nagoya's cultural scene, MONAMI is undoubtedly one to watch.
